DESCRIPTION OF THE ARTWORK
El Pibe de Oro was born from the challenge of recreating Diego Armando Maradona using exclusively recycled plastics and discarded objects, without paints or artificial coloring.
I chose each element according to its natural tone: the blue shades of the shirt, the colors of the skin, the shadows, and the details of the face come directly from the recovered materials. Viewed from a distance, the composition conveys the image of the footballer; up close, it reveals the individual fragments that make it up.
Maradona was an extraordinary talent and a figure marked by deep contradictions. Even discarded materials carry imperfections and traces of their past: by transforming them, I gave them a new purpose and used them to create the portrait of an icon that continues to live on in the collective imagination.
