DESCRIPTION OF THE ARTWORK
Proud Parrot was created by assembling recovered plastics and discarded objects, most of which were collected on beaches after storms.
I selected the various elements based on their shapes and colors, transforming them into the parrot’s feathers, body, and details. The original surfaces and imperfections remain visible, allowing the everyday origin of the materials to be recognized.
The figure appears compact and lively from a distance. As you approach, the plumage fragments and reveals the accumulation of objects from which it is made.
An animal associated with color and vitality takes shape through discarded materials, creating a contrast between the energy of the image and the consequences of consumption.
