ARTWORK DESCRIPTION
Sunflowers III is my reinterpretation of Vincent van Gogh’s sunflowers, created by assembling salvaged household objects and metal food packaging.
I cut, shaped, and arranged the various elements to create three flowers, making use of the shapes, surfaces, and imperfections of the original materials. Water-based colours complete the composition and define the background.
An immediately recognizable subject is reconstructed using ordinary objects destined for disposal, transformed into petals, leaves, and parts of the vase.
